London, 8th November 2022: Virtua Studios, a division of Virtua, has dropped the teaser trailer for VFLECTS: Battle for Virtua Prime, a AAA Web3 game developed in partnership with Stainless Games.
The strategy-based action/puzzler game requires players to take control of a squad of VFLECT characters to navigate dozens of levels and environments using their combat skills, strength, agility, and puzzle-solving abilities. In this Web3 game, VFLECT squad members are unique NFTs that come with a variety of playable and customisable cards, ready to take on any challenge.
VFLECTS: Battle for Virtua Prime is being developed by Stainless Games, the team behind Carmageddon and Magic: The Gathering – Duels of the Planeswalkers™, with Virtua Studios investing heavily in its production. The game is being built using Unreal Engine and features Virtua’s own VFLECT IP; over 42,000 VFLECT NFTs have been sold on the Virtua marketplace since the IP was first introduced in 2019.
Doug Dyer, Head of Virtua Studios, said: “What an exciting moment in the production of VFLECTS: Battle for Virtua Prime. We’ve been busy working on the game for some time, and are dedicating the resources necessary to produce a AAA product that will attract both traditional and Web3 gamers alike. It’s great to finally give everyone a chance for a first look.”
“Developing a game designed for both Web3 and Web2 audiences, we’re really pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in games development,” said Jawad Ashraf, CEO of Virtua. “We’re introducing groundbreaking new features, which will enable all our games to integrate with the Virtua metaverse and provide seamless interoperability – where what you do in the game will affect your metaverse experience, and vice versa.”
Neil Barnden, Game Director at Stainless Games, added: “VFLECTS: Battle for Virtua Prime has been created by gamers, for gamers. This game is the beginning of a long-term franchise that will attract both traditional and crypto gamers alike, with deep hooks into the Virtua metaverse – showcasing user-generated content, interoperability between games, and much more.”
VFLECTS: Battle for Virtua Prime is slated for the launch of its MVP in early 2023, with a robust roadmap of post-launch features and surprises.
