At Terra Virtua, we’ve been kicking around the idea of a sports catalogue for quite some time, so today we’re especially excited to bring you news of our latest partnership.
The Hero Indian Super League (or ISL as it’s known) is the top division in Indian football and is fully committed to a development programme that aims to elevate the sport to an international level. It has revolutionised football in India and Indian football globally in a short span of 7 years, reigniting fans’ love for the game.
Now, this future-focused League has set its sights on the virtual world. Working with Terra Virtua exclusively, ISL will become India’s first sports property to launch NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens) and digital collectibles.
A new way for football fans to engage with their heroes
Since the launch of ISL back in 2014, the League has experienced many memorable moments. Under the terms of our new partnership, Terra Virtua can now recreate those special moments in unique digital collectibles, featuring the Hero ISL and all its 11 Clubs.
From player cards to in-match highlights, a range of limited-edition interactive memorabilia will be made available for fans to enjoy as NFTs for purchase and trade on the Terra Virtua Marketplace.
Terra Virtua CEO and co-founder, Gary Bracey says:
“The partnership signals a fundamental shift in the way sports fans will be able to engage with their favourite sports teams going forward, allowing them to collect and trade Interactive player merchandise and dynamic digital memorabilia with fellow fans.”
ISL’s Head of Digital, Hoshedar Gundevia adds:
“We are extremely excited to be working with Terra Virtua to remain at the forefront of the next wave of innovation around fan engagement. Digital collectibles offer innovative opportunities for the league and its clubs to connect with the growing Indian football market and attract newer audiences.”
Coming to the Terra Virtua Marketplace soon...
Our first set of collectibles with ISL will be announced ahead of the next ISL tournament, which begins on 19th November, 2021.
