Audiences were first introduced to Pantha in 1974 as part of writer Steve Skeates (Aquaman, T.H.U.N.D.E.R Agents) and illustrator Richard Corben’s (Hellblazer, Hellboy) Vampirella #30. While that may have been our initial meeting, Vampirella fans have seen Pantha appear time and time again whether that be in Gotham City, during a vampire apocalypse or in fighting Nazis – she gets around.

After years of appearing, Pantha finally got her own comic in 2012 under Dynamite with writer Brandon Jerwa (Battlestar Galactica, G.I. Joe) and Illustrator Pow Rodrix (Lady Death, Justice League of America), bringing this fierce feline to action.

Now, a decade later, the dynamic team that is Thomas Sniegoski (Vampirella, Punisher) and Jeannine Acheson (Vampirella, Vampiverse) in collaboration with illustrator Igor Lima (Legenderry: Red Sonja, Sinestro) have joined forces to take the shapeshifting Queen on a new adventure, that could give her back her freedom.

Once a Queen, now a tormented soul, Pantha is more than meets the eye.

In Ancient Egypt Pantha was a beautiful Queen, wife of Pharaoh Diogenes Hamlet II, and her quest for power will stop at nothing.

As an illegitimate child threatens her place on the throne, she begs the goddess Sekhmet for her help and in return is granted the eyes of all of Egypt’s felines. Although she might not have been entirely truthful with what she wanted those all seeing eyes for…

To ensure that the son of the Pharaoh is not found, she orders all male babies to be slaughtered, solidifying her place in power. That is until Sekhmet find out about her evil deed and curses her to eternal life, trapped between human and panther, forever to be tormented.

An eternity is a long time...can Pantha finally set herself free?

Pantha has suffered for a millennia and lived the life of a beast, tormented and now trapped in a mere zoo for children to stare at. She has taken her punishment, but things are about to change.

As something, or someone, begins to hunt down the Gods, there is only one person who can save the pantheon, and it’s an unlikely hero.

If Pantha can hunt down and avenge them, she may get her freedom in return…can she do it or is she set for another eternity of prowling the earth?
