If you’re not familiar with Nick Percival, you might be wondering why we are so excited about having his work on our marketplace.

In short, Nick is a super talented artist who’s worked for some of the biggest entertainment brands on the planet, so yeah, having him join the Terra Virtua family back in 2020, was (and still is) a pretty big deal.

Which brands, you ask…Well have you heard of Marvel, DC, World of Warcraft, Magic the Gathering, Hellraiser?

We’re guessing that’s a yes to at least one of those, and that’s just a very condensed overview of Nick’s work. He got into the comic book design game when he was just 19, and get this, he had no formal artistic training and is completely self-taught (yes, we know, we’re super jealous of his natural talent too). He was working at a comic book store at the time, submitted a piece to Dredd 2000 AD, got a script to work on on the spot, and has been working consistently with the 2000 AD comics ever since.

From then on he was involved in so many different comic, video game, and horror franchises that it’s virtually impossible to have avoided his work if you’re a fan of any of those mediums.

Now, how do you top all of that? Is it even possible? For Nick Percival it is; after huge success working on some of the most popular comic books around, Nick took the plunge and wrote his very own graphic novel. Legends is a fantastical twist on some of the best known fairy tales, blending his unique artwork and love of horror, which won Nick critical acclaim and many awards for this masterpiece.

Fast forward a few years with lots more incredible work, and Nick made the decision to get involved in the NFT world, and joined Terra Virtua. For a traditional artist, this must have been a pretty big leap, but Nick threw himself into it wholeheartedly, and has been delighting the Terra Virtuan community with his insane pieces ever since. But don’t worry, he hasn’t abandoned his roots; Nick told us that he still uses hand drawn sketches as the base model for many pieces, but then paints and animates his work using digital tools such as Corel and Photoshop. It’s the perfect blend of traditional and modern approaches, and just showcases how adaptable Nick is as an artist.

If all that wasn’t enough, Nick is also a totally cool and down to earth guy, which is just another reason we’re happy to have him in the Terra Virtua family. Unsurprisingly, he’s been hugely popular with the art lovers in the Terra Virtua community, and his first series of Hellraiser pieces sold out just minutes after launching (not that we’re surprised, because they are epic!)

Miraculously there are still a few pieces from his original Halloween collection on our marketplace, so if you like the idea of owning an original Nick Percival piece (and seriously who wouldn’t) snap them up now, because they won’t be around long. You can check out a few pieces below (Note: Nick’s work is horror based, so if you’re of a delicate disposition, it might not be for you).

We’re also super excited to announce that Nick has a brand new collection dropping on 29th April, and it is set to be an epic selection of artwork so make a note and be ready for the drop!

And if you want to learn more about the man behind the masterpieces, check out our interview with Nick on YouTube where he shares all kinds of awesome details about his work, his life, and his love of comics, why he’s #TeamHulk, and what it’s like to work with horror king Clive Barker.
